Job description / Your role:
As a Systems Engineer at LEOspace, you will own the architecture of our cybertronic actuator systems and lead their development across all engineering domains — driving design decisions and integrating mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems from concept to orbital deployment.
- Define and manage system architecture based on mission needs, ensuring requirements traceability across all development phases.
- Drive key design decisions across mechanical, electrical and software subsystems.
- Lead cross-functional teams through an agile, simultaneous engineering approach.
- Oversee the full system lifecycle — from concept through qualification to orbital deployment.
- Prepare technical documentation and support testing from prototype to flight-ready hardware.
Qualification Checklist:
- Master's degree in systems engineering, aerospace, mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years professional experience across multiple engineering domains, preferably in the space sector.
- Proficiency in handling technical requirements: authoring, reviewing, and interpreting specifications.
- Strong analytical skills and experience in technical leadership or mentoring roles.

- Define and own our space electronics roadmap, enabling our cybertronic vision.
- Lead the design, integration and validation of electrical subsystems.
- Translate system requirements into robust electrical solutions at equipment, unit and component level.
- Guide component selection and support the qualification of high-performance electrical parts.

As Space Lead Software Engineer at LEOspace, you will be responsible for the software development of our advanced electromechanical drive systems and mechanisms for space applications. You need a strong focus on real time computing, embedded control, hardware-related software and system integration. You will contribute to current product developments, while helping shape the software foundation for future cybertronic product generations that combine actuators, electronics, sensing and intelligent control in highly integrated systems.
- Lead software development for actuator and mechanism products.
- Define software requirements, architecture, interfaces and subsystem integration in close collaboration with engineering teams.
- Support the development, tuning and validation of control algorithms for electric drives and motion systems.
- Maintain technical documentation, including requirements, ICDs and architecture descriptions.
- Shape future software architecture, including distributed computing, sensor fusion, and AI features.
Qualification Checklist:
- University degree (or equivalent) in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.
- Ability to develop embedded software for mechatronic or control systems using C/C++ and Python/scripting.
